Lunch-Club's 'take' ...

...... folks in the region seem to believe that taking out Mughniyeh ushered a period of (in the words of a "friend")"tasfiyat" (liquidations). This of course (again, in the mind of this same source) has once and for all, ruled out the possibility of a "conventional" large scale attack on either Iran &/or Syria, ... and the nature of the hit (Mughnieh) meant to say just that! It is believed that the "discounted" Fath El Islam (& co.) are not operating according to a "purely takfiri-salafi" agenda BUT according to the "dictates" of the struggle in the region. Look for M14 to continue slognaeering and sectarian (ultra-nationalist) mobilization (s) in the hope that a "reduced & controlled" crisis would warrant a large scale foreign intervention. look for saudi-syrian relations to stoke differences further, and look .... for a major campaign of "scalping" to encompasse the whole Levant (perhaps furher in the ... Gulf!). GPC

about time someone got that mother f---er. i hope it wasn't the israelis. i hope that one morning in the very near future we wake up and read that this assassination-for-justice was carried out and sanctioned by the United States of America. we have a right to defend ourselves. gone should be the days when terror masters can inflict pain on us and hide behind our laws of not striking back for fear of collateral damage.if they slap us we shouldn't slap back; we should punch their lights out. knowing that it was our government who metted out justice for our 241 marines, our 63 embassy employees, our hostages, robert buckley, col. higgins and robert stethem would give us closure of a wound that never healed. it is very unfortunate that it took so long to get this killer. however, let those who mean us harm understand that if they kil, they will die, and soon. and if they intend to kill us and planning to do so, we should and will pre-empt them and kill them first. these are "beirut rules" and they apply universally in this day and age.

lol, anonymous. If you truly believe in justice and the right to defend oneself then those 241 marines and embassy employees were justice for the civilians the USS Yorktown was shelling in the Chouf (isnt that ironic) and the Dahyeh. Not forgetting that they were there to protect a govt. installed by the Israelis who had just murdered 10,000 Lebanese civilians.

Still believe in an eye for an eye?
